Additionally, the grinder features automatic speed Change technology, which adjusts speed and torque during operation for optimal performance, making it ideal for grinding, cutting, and sanding a wide range of materials.

Part of Makita’s expanding 18V Lithium-Ion system, the XAG04Z grinder is compatible with the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries. Also, Makita 18V Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, allowing for more working time and less time on the charger. To enhance tool performance and battery life, Makita has implemented Star protection Computer controls, a communication technology that exchanges real-time data between the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to monitor conditions during use. This helps to protect against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating.

The tool's versatility extends to its power source, as it can be powered by Makita 18V LXT and compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the Star symbol on the battery indicating Star protection inside.
